Superb fairy wrens are cooperative breeders, meaning a whole gang will raise the young together. The beautiful blue alpha males are usually the mate chosen by the female, and all the other blue tailed males will help raise the young. Sometimes she'll mate with a non alpha male too because they are inconspicuous and so less threatened. Of-coarse sometimes she'll mate with the same sex as well.
